Online Audio Resources

The Internet Audio Archive: This library contains over a hundred thousand free digital recordings ranging from alternative news programming, to Grateful Dead concerts, to Old Time Radio shows, to book and poetry readings, to original music uploaded by our users. Many of these audios and MP3s are available for free download.

Boston Public Library Overdrive: The Boston Public Library allows you to download and “borrow” books in digital audio format. Most books are only downloadable in Windows Media Player format. You can sign up for a free BPL eCard or you can use your existing library card.

LibriVox: Librivox offers free audio books from the public domain.

Audible.com: Offers digital audio books for a monthly fee, or you can pay for single books.

Audible Kids: Just like Audible.com but for children’s books.

Storyline Online: An online streaming video program that features Hollywood actors reading children’s books aloud.

Raz-Kids.com: An online leveled reading library in which students can have a story read to them aloud as well as record themselves reading the story. There is a subscription fee of $59.95 per classroom, however, you can sign up for a free trial.

National Geographic Young Explorer: This contains read aloud audio for the articles in the National Geographic Young Explorers magazine.
